Eight kinds of things, one library

  • Links
  • Notes
  • Checklists
  • Photos
  • Videos
  • PDFs
  • Audio
  • Files

What it does

Built for the way things actually pile up

You do not collect one kind of thing. Snagbox takes all of it, files it without asking you to, and hands it back when you go looking.

Save from any app

Share Sheet, clipboard, Photos, Files, the camera, a document scan, or drag and drop on iPad. One tap saves and closes — Snagbox sorts out the preview, the title and the file afterwards.

Search every word

Titles, notes, tags and addresses, plus the text inside your PDFs and the words Snagbox reads out of your photos and screenshots. All of the recognition happens on your device.

Tidy without trying

Categories and tags give everything a home. Rename, recolor and merge tags whenever you like — the library follows along instead of leaving you with orphans.

Private photos and videos

Capture inside the app and the result never touches your camera roll. Lock the whole library behind Face ID, and the App Switcher shows a blank card instead of your contents.

Your iCloud, your devices

Turn on sync and your library moves between iPhone and iPad through your own private iCloud account. Leave it off and nothing ever leaves the device.

Just ask Siri

Save a link, save a note, add a line to a checklist or search your library by voice. Every action is a Shortcuts action too, so it drops into automations you already run.

The long view

A dashboard that shows what you have been keeping

What you saved this week, what kinds it splits into, which categories and tags are filling up, the to-dos still open, and a handful of older things worth rediscovering. Tap any of it to drop straight into a filtered library.

  • Open to-dos pulled out of every checklist
  • Storage broken down by kind, so you know what to clear
  • Recently added, and a daily set of things to rediscover
  • A full sidebar, inspector and multi-window layout on iPad

Questions

Good to know

Where is my data stored?

On your device. If you turn on iCloud sync, Snagbox also stores your library in your own private iCloud account so it appears on your other devices. There is no Snagbox server and no account to create.

Does Snagbox work offline?

Yes. Everything you have saved opens without a connection. Link previews and text extraction need the network, and they run on their own once you are back online.

What can I save?

Links, notes, checklists, photos, videos, PDFs, audio and any other file — eight kinds in all. You can save from the iOS Share Sheet in any app, paste from the clipboard, import from Photos or Files, scan a document with the camera, or ask Siri.

How does search work?

It searches titles, notes, tags, link addresses, the text inside your PDFs and the text Snagbox reads out of your images. Recognition runs on your device. You can also type #tag tokens to narrow a search.

What happens if I stop paying?

Nothing you saved is deleted. Snagbox keeps your whole library readable; you simply cannot add beyond the free limit of 50 items again until Pro is active. You can also export everything at any time.

Can I get my data out?

Yes. Settings › Export writes a zip containing a library.json file and every attached file, so your library is readable without the app.
